Questions
Answers about accounts, trainings, certificates and teams.
Accounts
Do I need a RotorLab account?
Yes. For now the Academy has its own sign-in. Register with the work email you use in RotorLab so your org admin can add you to your team.
Is my Academy password the same as my RotorLab password?
No. They are separate accounts for now. You can use the same email in both.
I forgot my password.
Use Reset your password on the sign-in page. We email you a link.
Is it free?
During launch, trainings are free for members of RotorLab organizations.
What does the Academy keep about me?
Your name, email, training progress, check results and certificates. To have your Academy account removed, contact RotorLab support.
Trainings
How long does each training take?
30 to 60 minutes. Your progress is saved, so you can stop and come back.
Which trainings should I take?
Everyone starts with RotorLab Basics. Then take the trainings for your role; see Paths by role on the Trainings page.
Does it touch my organization’s real records?
No. Every exercise runs in a shared practice organization, separate from yours. Other learners use it too, so put your initials on anything you create there.
What do I need before I start?
A computer with a current browser, your RotorLab sign-in, and access to the practice organization. Your org admin or RotorLab support can add you.
What happens if I fail the final check?
Retake it. There is no limit, and your step answers are kept.
Certificates
What does the certificate mean?
It records that you completed a RotorLab product training and passed its checks. It is not a pilot certificate, license, rating or regulatory approval, and no regulator has reviewed it.
Why do certificates expire?
RotorLab changes with each release, so a certificate is valid for 24 months. After that, take the training again.
How does someone check my certificate?
They enter its ID on the Verify a certificate page or scan its QR code.
Teams
Can my org admin see my results?
Yes, once your organization has a team on the Academy. Org admins and team leaders see which trainings each member has passed and when certificates expire.
How does my organization get a team space?
An org admin contacts RotorLab and we set it up.
I am in a team but my org admin cannot see me.
Make sure your Academy account uses the same work email your org admin added. If it does, contact RotorLab support.
